This three-day group tour offers a walking holiday for people who don't like to hike alone. In this tour you will walk on a beautiful part of the world-famous Alta Via 1. Along the Civetta and Moiazza with magnificent views of the impressive Monte Pelmo, Lake Alleghe and the Marmolada glacier.
This self guided hiking tour in the Dolomites, is also offerd as a group trip. This tour, in which you will hike around the Civetta in three days, is pretty strenuous with days of 4-6 hours of pure walking time and quite a lot of elevationmeters.
It's a group tour, but feel free to hike (partially) alone if you prefer to do so. For example because you can keep your own pace without waiting for others or feel 'chased' when others are faster. You will meet the other participants again in the next hut.
If you want to do this tour, but not as a group tour, or the date is not convenient? No problem, you can also book this tour individually or with your own group.
The night before the hut-to-hut tour you will sleep in B&B Villa Vittorio. You will also meet the other participants and receive an explanation of the exact route.
After a good night's sleep and a delicious breakfast, you will have a trasnfer to Pécol. Here the tour starts with a steep climb to Rifugio Coldai, a great lunch spot with a view of the impressive Monte Pelmo. After lunch, there will be a small climb to Lake Coldai and a beautiful hike up to Rifugio Tissi, where you will spend the night. From there, a small walk to the cross offers you a phenomenal view of the Marmolada.. On a clear day you can also enjoy the beautiful sunset here.
Rise ealy for breakfast, as today will be a long hike. On your way you'll have stunning views on the incredibly steep walls of the Civetta. After an early lunch in Vazzoler there is another four hours to go along the perpendicular walls of Moiazza. After conquering another Forcella, you will arrive at Rifugio Carestiato, a beautifully situated hut with (again) fantastic views of the Val Agordina.
After a short descent of about 45 minutes you'll arrive at the Passo Duran. Great time for an real cup of Italian coffee with a dolce. From here we will leave the route of the AV 1 and continue along the flanks of the San Sebastiano, where you will hardly meet anybody. Via the very nice village of Colcerver you first descend to Pralongo and then to Forno di Zoldo. Don't forget to treat yourself with a delicious ice cream before you make the final climb back to Villa Vittorio.
BergXperience is a small organization that operates from our own B&B in Forno di Zoldo. We literally welcome you to our home. We can help you decide what to pack and what not to pack in your backpack. You can leave everything you don't take with you, at the B&B until you come back. Both before and (of course) during the hut to hut tour, we are happy to answer all your questions.

As soon as we agree on the travel proposal, I will send you a booking confirmation. When the rifugios are confirmed, I will send an invoice with the final amount.
When booking, a deposit of € 40 pppn is requested; This amount should be paid within 1 week after booking. The deposit is non-refundable.
The total amount must be paid no later than 6 weeks before departure. If you book within 6 weeks before departure, you pay the total amount at once.
About 4 weeks before the start of the tour I will send you a confirmation and general information for your trip.
As all tours start from Forno di Zoldo, you will sleep the night before the tour in Villa Vittorio, our own B&B. Villa Vittorio has 2-person rooms and 1 multi-bed room. The bathroom is shared.
In the rifugios you will sleep in a multi-bed room or a dormitory. The bathrooms are always shared in the rifugios. When you arrive at the rifugio, you will be asked to fill in the menu. The rifugios offer a 3-course menu: a primo piatto (1st course), a secondo piatto (2nd course) and a dolce (dessert). The next morning from 7 a.m./8:30 a.m., breakfast is ready, so you can continue your hike in time.
Although rifugios have long ceased to be simple mountain huts, you shouldn't expect the luxury of a hotel either. It is still a stay on top of the mountain, where all the supplies have to be brought up and all the waste has to be transported back down. The water supply may also be limited at altitude. Similarly, not all huts have drinkable water. Compare it to a simple guest house.
On your request, I can try to make a reservation for a smaller room. Not all rifugios have those, and if they do, they only have a few, which are often booked up very fast. For a smaller room, a separate surcharge per person will be charged, this will be indicated in the travel proposal.
In any case, what you need is a good backpack and hiking boots A/B with good profile and a rain jacket.
In the attached packing list you will find what to bring. Material in the frame marked with * can be borrowed from BergXperience for a small fee. Handy, especially if it's the first time you're doing a hut-to-hut tour, so you don't have to buy everything yourself.
